COLUMBUS—State Senator Michael Rulli (R-Salem) today joined President Trump at the White House for the ceremonial signing of the U.S.-China Phase One Trade Agreement.
The United States and China have reached a historic and enforceable agreement on a Phase One trade deal that requires structural reforms and other changes to China’s economic and trade regime in the areas of intellectual property, technology transfer, agriculture, financial services, and currency and foreign exchange.
China has agreed to make substantial purchases of American manufacturing goods, agricultural products, energy products and services.
"The Phase One Trade Agreement with China is pro-America and pro-Ohio," said State Senator Michael Rulli. "Trade deals like this are long overdue for the people of the Mahoning Valley. This will encourage businesses to provide customers with the highest quality of goods while providing better paying jobs to the Ohio worker. I commend the hard-work of President Trump and his Administration to seal this deal with China, ensuring fairer trade for the American people.”
