Rulli to Participate in Food Distribution at Canfield Fairgrounds
July 24, 2020

COLUMBUS— State Senator Michael Rulli (R-Salem) will be participating in the Traveling Food Pantry food distribution at the Canfield fairgrounds on Tuesday, July 28 at 11 a.m.

Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is collaborating with the Canfield Fair Board, the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio National Guard to host the event.

"Our food banks are incredible, they work tirelessly to provide much needed goods to families in the 33rd district," said Rulli. "During this pandemic, we are lucky to have such dedicated service men and women stepping up to help those in need. I commend all the great work that Second Harvest has been doing to help people during such trying times."

The Traveling Food Pantry is a new program of Second Harvest Food Bank, operating as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic to help meet the increased need for food.

“The lines at food pantries remain long across Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties as we progress through the fifth month of the pandemic —nearly 20,000 requests for emergency food assistance each week,” said Michael Iberis, executive director, Second Harvest Food Bank.
