Senator Thomas Responds To Governor Kasich's State Of The State Address
March 6, 2018
Columbus — State Senator Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) released the following statement this evening in response to Governor John Kasich's final State of the State address at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio:
"I hope Governor Kasich will work with Democrats and Republicans in the General Assembly to pass stricter gun control laws. We know he supports three proposals to curb gun violence that are similar to bills Senate Democrats have introduced in the past few months, including my bill to ban bump stocks.
"As students all over the US prepare to walk out of school next week and then march to protest our country's lax gun laws, I call upon our Governor to work with all four caucuses in the General Assembly to ensure that before summer recess we enact a meaningful school and gun safety legislative reform package."
