Today, state Senator Cecil Thomas (D-Avondale) commended the Ohio Senate’s passage of House Bill 687, the state Capital Budget that appropriates $21.3 million for economic development projects in Ohio’s 9th Senate District, which includes parts of Hamilton County.
“I am extremely grateful for the allocation Hamilton County received, especially the close to $8 million in funding for projects in the 9th Senate district,” Senator Thomas said.
“This is a win for Hamilton County and proves the dedication the southwest delegation and I have for working together to deliver for the people of our area.”
Some of the local projects in the bill include:
• Blue Line Regional Training Center
• Playhouse in the Park
• Walnut Hill Economic Empower Center Renovation
• Growing Beyond Hunger
• Lincoln Heights Memorial Athletic Field Renovation
• La Soupe Expansion
The Capital Budget includes $3.51 billion in funding for capital improvement projects throughout Ohio. It also provides $1.2 billion to support the Intel semiconductor project. The bill now heads to Governor DeWine for his signature.
