COLUMBUS – In front of family and friends, Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) took the oath of office to serve in the Ohio Senate for the 131st General Assembly. Senator Yuko will represent the 25th Senate District, which includes portions of Cuyahoga and Lake Counties, spanning from the eastern edges of Cleveland in the west to Painesville in the east.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to represent the constituents of the 25th Senate District at the Statehouse,” said Senator Yuko. “During this General Assembly, we will be tackling some very critical issues. Whether it’s working to better our schools, ensuring hardworking Ohioans have the opportunity to earn a living wage, or making sure our local governments have the resources to provide for their citizens, I am ready to work with my colleagues to create a better Ohio for the present and for the future.”
Mr. Yuko returns to the Ohio General Assembly after serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2005-2012. During his tenure in the House, he served as both Chairman and Ranking Member of the Commerce and Labor Committee, and was also a member on the Committees on Health and Aging and Veterans Affairs. Prior to his time in the legislature, Yuko worked for Laborers’ Local #860 and served as a union organizer for more than 25 years. He currently resides in Richmond Heights with his wife, Pam.
