Yuko Comments on State Legislative Maps Adopted on Party Lines
September 16, 2021
Today, Ohio Senate Minority Leader Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) released the following statement after Republican members of the Ohio Redistricting Commission adopted state legislative maps that continue to gerrymander Ohio’s communities and give the Republican Party an unearned advantage in the General Assembly:

“I am extremely disappointed that the Republican members of the Commission were unwilling to support a bipartisan compromise that would’ve resulted in 10-year maps. By passing these gerrymandered maps, they didn’t just ignore the will of voters and the constitutional mandates they overwhelmingly approved in 2015. They also ignored the hundreds of Ohioans who took time off work, traveled to regional public hearings and waited hours to demand fair maps.”
