COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Hackett (R-London) today announced that Jo-Ann Stores LLC has been awarded a Job Creation Tax Credit in support of their expansion project in West Jefferson, expected to create 175 new jobs and more than $5.7 million in new annual payroll. The credits were approved at a recent meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, which approved assistance for six projects across the state, resulting in the creation of more than 2,423 jobs and the retention of 18,458 others. “These projects will bring new jobs and help spur additional development in our communities,” said Hackett. “I applaud Jo-Ann Stores for choosing to expand their operations in our region of the state, investing in the hard-working people of Ohio.” Jo-Ann Stores is a specialty retailer of fabrics and crafts. The TCA approved a 1.192 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
