Chavez Recognizes Marietta High School Girls Rowing Team Champions

COLUMBUS—State Senator Brian Chavez (R-Marietta) recognized Madi Lovejoy and Wilkey Smith of the Marietta High School Girls Rowing Team for winning the 2025 Scholastic Rowing Championship.
"Both Madi and Wilkey are incredible student-athletes," said Senator Chavez. "The Marietta community is incredibly proud of them and I join them in celebrating this fantastic accomplishment."
Both Madi Lovejoy and Wilkey Smith have been rowing for four years and are two-time Midwest Regional Champions. They became the first Marietta High School students to win a national championship.
Both athletes are continuing their rowing careers at Division 1 schools, Madi Lovejoy as a Biomedical Engineering major at the University of Central Florida, and Wilkey Smith as a Chemical Engineering major at the University of Louisville.
