COLUMBUS— Following the news conference this week by U.S. Attorney DeVillers announcing a criminal complaint against Speaker Larry Householder, State Senator Louis W. Blessing III (R-Colerain Township) issued the following statement:
"Given the seriousness of the allegations against Speaker Householder, it is incumbent upon him to resign. Though I voted for Ryan Smith to become the next Speaker of the House, I trusted the process as per our Constitution. That trust has been broken, and it can only begin to be restored with the election of a new Speaker."
