Senator Manning Honors Avon High School Football Champions

COLUMBUS — State Senator Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) honored the Avon High School Football Team on the floor of the Ohio Senate for winning the OHSAA Division II State Championship.

“The city of Avon continues to be a city full of champions,” said Senator Manning. “Achieving back-to-back state titles is a tremendous feat, and I'm proud of the hard work shown by this group of student-athletes. I look forward to their continued success both on and off the field and hope to have them back next year for the third time.”

In the championship game, the Avon Eagles defeated the Cincinnati Anderson Raptors 37-20 to win back-to-back Division II titles. The team was led in their championship winning season by Head Coach Mike Elder.
