Antonio Responds to DeWine's Pause on Data Center Tax Exemption

Today, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) responded to the governor’s decision to direct the chair of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority to pause the consideration of any new data center tax exemption requests.

“The governor made the right decision to pause the data center tax exemption, but the legislature must still take action,” said Antonio. “The over $2 billion we’ve given away could be better spent fully funding our public schools or providing property tax relief to those who need it most. Pausing the data center tax exemption is not enough; the legislature must put an end to these taxpayer-funded handouts to the biggest tech corporations in the world.”
