Hicks-Hudson, UAW Local 2213 St. Vincent RN Unit Celebrate Nurses Appreciation Week
Today, state Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson joined members of the UAW Local 2213 St. Vincent RN Unit to celebrate Nurses Appreciation Week (May 6-12) at Mercy Health–St. Vincent Medical Center.
“I know firsthand how important nurses are to patient care, and we must honor them with not just words, but deeds,” said Hicks-Hudson. “Especially at a time when nurses and healthcare funding are under direct attack, this Nurses Week let us celebrate the nurses of UAW Local 2213 and the thousands of nurses across our region and state who work tirelessly on the frontlines of our healthcare system.”
During the event, Hicks-Hudson recognized the dedication and service of union nurses who provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients throughout northwest Ohio. The celebration also highlighted the critical role nurses play in strengthening communities, advocating for patient safety, and supporting Ohio families every day.
Nurses Appreciation Week is an annual observance held from May 6 to May 12 to honor the nearly 4.7 million registered nurses in the U.S. for their contributions to healthcare.
