Huffman Celebrates Ohio's Park System Being Named Best in the Nation
COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) presented a resolution to Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz in honor of Ohio's state parks being named the best park system in the United States by the American Acaemy for Park and Recreation Administration.
"Ohio's commitment to maintaining our state's natural beauty continues to pay dividends for the Buckeye State," said Senator Huffman. "I'm proud to see Ohio's Department of Natural Resources being recognized for their oversight of our incredible park system. I encourage all of my fellow Ohioans to get outside and enjoy our state's natural wonders."
With free entry to all 76 state parks, Ohio offers more than 9,300 campsites, 1,200 miles of trails, 10 lodges, and over 7,100 educational programs annually.
