COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) had the honor to participate in the grand opening of a new Wawa in Huber Heights. Senator Huffman was given the privilege of making the first hoagie at the brand-new convenience store location.

"Wawa's reputation for being a business with high quality food and fun atmosphere extends well beyond its East Coast origins," said Senator Huffman. "The investment made by Wawa in Ohio and especially the Dayton region is significant. I'm grateful for being able to participate in this grand opening and look forward to seeing continued success by Wawa for years to come."

Wawa is a family-owned company with more than 200 years of experience operating as a business in America. Known for their wide variety of food options, especially hoagies, as well as dairy products, Wawa is continuing to expand in the Buckeye State. With nine stores having opened in the state in 2025, Wawa invests more than $7.5 million to build and operate each location with an expectation of 2,100 new long-term jobs coming to Ohio.
