COLUMBUS —State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) voted for Senate Bill 450, Ohio's Capital Budget, allocating a total of $5,506,800 for community projects across the 7th Senate District.

The State Legislature generally passes a capital budget every two years, funding necessary improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.

"I'm proud to have secured funding for these projects that support the citizens of Hamilton and Warren counties," said Senator Wilson. "The 7th Senate District saw a wide spectrum of entities receive funding, notably parks and recreation projects as well as programs supporting workforce development. I look forward to seeing the positive effect each of these projects will have on the region."

Projects receiving funding in the 7th Senate District include:

  • $750,000 toward the Sharon Woods Harbor Revitalization Project.
  • $550,000 in infrastructure upgrades at Armco Park.
  • $500,000 to a new headquarters for People Working Cooperatively to support workforce development.

The Capital Budget also directs over $600 million to new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools, nearly $400 million to projects run by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, and over $250 million towards supporting programs overseen by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
