Understanding Property Taxes | Ohio Senate Democrats

You've probably been hearing a lot about property taxes lately...but have you ever wondered how your property taxes are calculated or what they pay for?

Many Ohioans' property taxes have skyrocketed lately because, without Fair School Funding, school districts have been forced to over-rely on levies that many local communities can't afford. The legislation passed at the Statehouse in November won’t provide the meaningful property tax relief to Ohioans that they deserve. Property tax reform is possible, but not by putting that responsibility on local communities and taxpayers.
