Senator Reineke Applauds Ohio Businesses for #1 Ranking

COLUMBUS— Ohio Senator Bill Reineke (R- Tiffin) released a statement following CNBC's naming of Ohio as the best state for business. 

"I'm proud to see Ohio rise in the ranks as the best state in the country to do business," Sen. Reineke said. "While we worked hard in the legislature to bring business and jobs to Ohio, business owners and everyday Ohio workers deserve the credit for this win too."

One of the recent legislative measures to make Ohio more business friendly was moving from income tax brackets to a flat tax on income of 2.75%. 

"We moved to the flax income tax because we believe Ohioans want to keep more of their money in their wallets," Sen. Reineke said. "And that actually spurs on economic growth."

Sen. Reineke was also a strong supporter of other reforms by the legislature to make Ohio the best state to both work and live. Some of these include:

• Creating the Department of Education and Workforce to integrate career and workforce development into the education system. 
• Passing House Bill 15 to reduce barriers for energy investment in the state. 
• Helping pass housing reforms to encourage affordable development and home ownership. 
• Regulating water quality in the 2025 operating budget to ensure Ohioans have clean water.
• Supporting the passage of Senate Bill 100 to provide healthcare options for Ohio's farmers who contribute to the economy and food source. 

As a result of Ohio's business-friendly environment, workers and industries are flocking to the state, including tech and data centers. The Joint Data Center commission will continue discussions on how to best regulate the data center industry while protecting Ohio's environment, data, and United States national security.
