This week, state Senator Catherine D. Ingram (D-Cincinnati) celebrated the Senate’s decision to concur on changes made by the House of Representatives to Senate Bill 155, her bipartisan legislation that establishes critical consumer protections for homeowners dealing with real estate wholesalers.

“For too long, homeowners, especially those in vulnerable financial situations, have entered into agreements with wholesalers without fully understanding what they are agreeing to,” said Ingram. “Thanks to the bipartisan support for this commonsense legislation, our homeowners will be empowered with the information they need to make fully informed decisions about what might be their most valuable asset.”

S.B. 155 requires real estate wholesalers to provide a clear, boldfaced disclosure to property owners before entering into a contract.

The bill now heads to the governor for his signature.
