Craig Announces $22.1M Investment in Franklin County Projects

Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) commended the Ohio Senate’s passage of the state’s capital budget (Senate Bill 450), which includes $11.5 million within Ohio’s 15th Senate District and nearly $22.1 million for Franklin County as a whole.

“This capital budget marks a tremendous investment in community projects throughout Columbus and Central Ohio,” said Craig. “From supporting behavioral health and addiction recovery services to investing in affordable housing, arts and culture, education, parks, and community development, this budget reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of our district. These projects will help improve quality of life, drive economic growth, and ensure that every member of the community has the opportunity to thrive.”

Overall, the bill appropriates $3.7 billion in capital funding, including $208 million for community projects across the state.

  • Great Southern Metro Park Improvements
  • Junior Achievement of Central Ohio Project
  • Maryhaven Comprehensive Addiction Center
  • LifeCare Alliance Improvements
  • Central Ohio Fire Museum Restoration & Expansion
  • Van Buren Community Shelter Improvements
  • CCAD Digital Innovation Lab
  • Service Innovation Kitchen Project
  • Lower Lights Behavior Health & Recovery Center
  • Columbus Symphony Music Center Improvements
  • The Buckeye Ranch
  • Vista Village: Tiny Home Project
  • Center for Print & Collaborative Arts Improvements
  • Short North Stage Garden Theater Renovation
  • CAPA Central Presbyterian Renovations
  • CAPA Ohio Theatre Renovations
  • Columbus Museum of Art Improvements

Additionally, the bill appropriates $5.9 million for the Poindexter Village Museum project on the Near East Side of Columbus as part of the OFCC Administrative Building Fund.
