Timken Appointed To Senate Judiciary Committee

COLUMBUS—Senator Jane Timken (R-Jackson Township) has been appointed to the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee by Senate President Rob McColley.

“I'm honored that President McColley appointed me to the Senate Judiciary Committee,” said Senator Timken. “I look forward to working with Chair Gavarone and the other members of the committee to strengthen the rule of law and protect the rights of all Ohioans.”

The Ohio Judiciary Committee is made up of seven members, five from the majority party and two from the minority party. As of Monday, August 31st, Senator Timken is the newest member of the committee. 

"I’ve practiced law and served as a magistrate, and I’ll put my legal background to good use by applying prudence and necessary scrutiny to all legislation before the committee. My top priorities will be to pass legislation that keep our communities safe, promote the rule of law, protect individual freedom, and align with our Constitution,” Sen. Timken said. “It’s what Ohioans deserve.” 

Senator Timken earned her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, graduating summa cum laude. Her legal career began at the firm Black McCuskey, where she practiced civil litigation, employment law, workers' compensation, and medical malpractice defense. She went on to later serve as magistrate and law clerk to the Honorable Judge Sara Lioi of the Stark County Common Pleas court.
