COLUMBUS— State Senator Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) applauds the Ohio House for their passage of his Senate Concurrent Resolution 5, which urges President Trump to Support the Ohio Department of Medicaid's request to restore work requirements for certain Medicaid recipients.

“I am overjoyed to see both the Ohio House and Senate recognize the importance of getting Ohioans back to work and improving their self-sustaining employment skills,” said Senator Koehler. “I look forward to seeing President Trump address this concern both here in Ohio and across the nation.”

The Ohio General Assembly passed legislation in July of 2023 that included work requirements for those in the adult Medicaid expansion population (Group VIII). The requirement is intended to improve health outcomes in Ohio and create opportunities for Ohioans to access the 150,000 jobs available across the state.
