Honda Accelerates Into a New Multi-Billion Dollar Ohio Investment
COLUMBUS—Honda of America announced a $4.2 billion multi-platform investment for its Ohio operations today at the historic Ohio Statehouse.

Joined by Governor Mike Dewine, Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives Bob Cupp, and leadership from Honda of America, Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima) welcomed the developments.

“Honda is Ohio,” said President Huffman. “It’s the remarkable result of the dedicated Ohioans who have helped grow Honda Ohio’s initial investment in 1982 into the worldwide leader it is today.”

$3.5 billion will build a battery plant in Fayette County generating an estimated 2,200 jobs.

$700 million will be dedicated to retooling at three plants, Anna, East Liberty and Marysville for the purpose of EV manufacturing.

“Technology continues to move at the speed of light,” said President Huffman, “My colleagues and I in the Senate will remain focused on providing the foundation for economic development combined with an affordable cost of living. That’s what makes Ohio such a great place call home.”

The project was coordinated through the efforts of the Governor’s office, JobsOhio, and the Ohio Department of Development.
