COLUMBUS—State Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) applauds the Ohio House for its passage of his Senate Bill 138, which modifies various laws regarding boards of alcohol, drug addiction, and mental health (ADAMH) services.

"Ensuring our ADAMH Boards and providers are receiving proper support strengthens their ability to provide the best care for the people who need it the most," said Senator Johnson. "This new law will grant our communities the capability to enforce recovery housing standards across the state, I'm proud to see this bill pass through both chambers and I look forward to seeing its impact on the care our citizens receive across Ohio."

Senate Bill 138 adjusts the time required for notice to be given on the termination of a contract between an ADAMH board and provider in the transition of care for client services. Additionally, the bill requires the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) and ADAMHS boards to establish a data sharing and integration plan.

Senate Bill 138 now heads to the desk of Governor DeWine for his signature.
