Senator Johnson Announces Opening Of Adams County Welcome Center
COLUMBUS—Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) announces the grand opening of the Adams County Welcome Center at Adams Lake State Park.
"I have long said that Southern Ohio has some of the most overlooked scenery in the country," said Senator Johnson. "With the opening of this welcome center, people from all across the globe will be able to see the beauty and serenity that our part of the state has to offer."
As part of the 135th General Assembly Capital Budget, Senator Johnson helped secure $350,000 to build the welcome center. This state-of-the-art facility provides 24-hour access to public restrooms, which were not available at Adams Lake State Park prior to its construction. It also provides visitors with directions toward places of interest, food, and lodging while they explore Southern Ohio.
"I was proud to fight for the Welcome Center's funding during the 135th General Assembly," added Senator Johnson. "I encourage everyone able to visit the state park and learn more about our great state."
