Blackshear Condemns Raid of Voting Rights Group

Today, state Senator Willis E Blackshear Jr. (D-Dayton) issued the following statement after the FBI conducted a raid on the Ohio Organizing Collaborative’s Cleveland office on June 11. 

“This politically motivated raid is part of a larger effort by the federal administration to intimidate voters,” said Blackshear. “Republicans have repeatedly touted baseless claims about voter fraud while passing policies that make voting less accessible.”

The raid on the Ohio Organizing Collaborative’s office was part of a larger operation that took place last week, with FBI agents also targeting current and former employees of the organization at their homes across the state. The FBI has yet to release information about the raid to the public.
