COLUMBUS - Today, State Senator Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) encourages constituents to participate in Ohio's annual sales tax holiday which is today, Friday, August 6th at 12:00 a.m. and will end on Sunday, August 8th at 11:59 p.m. The sales tax holiday was established permanently in 2019 through Substitute Senate Bill 226, which Antani co-sponsored.

COLUMBUS - Today, Senate Bill 187 sponsored by State Senator Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) passed out of the Ohio Senate with a vote of 33-0. The bill will now proceed to the House of Representatives where it need passage before reaching the Governor's desk. SB 187 legalizes college athletes earning compensation from their name, image, and likeness.

COLUMBUS - Today, Senate Bill 187 sponsored by State Senator Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) passed out of the Senate Workforce and Higher Education Committee with a unanimous vote. SB 187 legalizes college athletes earning compensation from their name, image, and likeness. The bill prohibits any college, university, or intercollegiate athletic association from preventing a student from participating in athletics or otherwise punishing them as a result of earning this compensation.

COLUMBUS - Today, State Senator Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) introduced a bill to legalize college athletes earning compensation from their name, image, and likeness. The bill prohibits any college, university, or intercollegiate athletic association from preventing a student from participating in athletics as a result of this compensation. Under the bill, student athletes will be permitted to obtain professional representation or enter into contracts for endorsements. The student must inform the college or university of their intent to enter into the contract at least 15 days before they enter into the contract.
